Angels of Rhode-Island is a space to celebrate the lives of those we have loved, cherished and lost in the West Warick fire. It is here to commemorate their life story, their accomplishments, the people they touched in their lives, pictures, poems, writings, awards, and messages from those they loved and left behind. http://www.angelsofrhodeisland.com/ This is what was said about Lori; Her family said she was a devoted mother who loved her children, Anthony M. and Matthew J.P. Durante, very much. Her neighbor Jim Colgate described her as a a jovial person and said her two sons were "tremendous kids." He said that she moved out of the neighborhood after she and her husband, Anthony Durante, split up. Records show that the Durantes were granted a divorce in November 1999. Colgate remembered Lori Durante as having been a good neighbor and a pleasant person who would always wave hello to him. Lori was born in Marysville, Ohio, and was a daughter of Paul G. and Betty J. (Amis) Roe, both of North Kingstown. She had lived in Warwick and North Kingstown before moving to West Warwick 15 years ago. Lori worked as a medical technician for West View Nursing Home, West Warwick, for five years. She was a 1980 graduate of North Kingstown High School. She volunteered at various sport and extracurricular activities at St. Joseph School. Besides her parents, she leaves two sons, Anthony M. and Matthew J.P. Durante, both at home; a brother, Jeffrey G. Roe, of North Kingstown; a sister, Tonda R. Daniels, of South Kingstown; and her maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Amis, of Tampa, Fla. |
